Epiq has spent the last 14 years focused on bringing low-SWaP software-defined radio platforms to the market in support of dozens of use cases for 400+ customers all over the world. We started with the core idea that if we can develop state-of-the-art flexible RF hardware, do it in standards-compliant form factors from M.2 to 3U VPX, and wrap it all with a well-defined software API, the sky’s the limit for the products we can enable for our customers.
Interestingly, we were wrong. The sky wasn’t the limit. Our customers have built flexible RF processing systems that are deployed underwater, on the ground, in backpacks, in drone payloads, and, yes, even in outer space. Anywhere low-SWaP processing and flexible RF matters, Epiq is there supporting our customers with our portfolio of products. It is thrilling to see the breadth of applications that our products and team enable today, helping to make the world a safer place.
But there are also use cases that require the highest level of RF performance, where fidelity is king. It can mean the difference between the mission succeeding and the mission failing. SWaP still matters, but until the laws of physics change, these deployments have more power and more space available to achieve their desired outcome.
With an eye towards expanding the domains where Epiq can be part of our customer’s solution, we are excited to announce that we have acquired the CyberRadio Solutions business unit from G3 Technologies Inc. The CyberRadio team, located in Mount Airy, MD, is focused on delivering exceptionally high-performance SDR modules and platforms, including form factors such as SOSA-aligned 3U VPX, 1U multichannel rackmount, and ruggedized standalone platforms for seamless integration into COMINT and ELINT systems. Their products are trusted by many of the same customers that Epiq serves today in adjacent use cases where RF performance is often the #1 requirement. These products lead the way not only in RF fidelity but also in their ability to support multi-GHz instantaneous bandwidth and access to RF frequencies up to 50 GHz (and beyond).
And while the technology and products are important, it is the team behind them that truly stands out. President Rob Diefes and his crew at CyberRadio embody the same core culture and work ethic that we prioritize at Epiq: humble yet capable makers focused on getting things done, serving our customers, and continuously looking at ways to do both of these better. The entire team in Mount Airy, MD, will transition to become part of Epiq, focused on high-performance RF and microwave products, applying that expertise to our small form factor SDR portfolio and enhancing the support of our customers in the Maryland/Virginia/DC area.
I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Rob and his entire team to join our crew at Epiq. Bringing these two powerhouse teams and product portfolios together will yield a unified resource with an unmatched pedigree to enable our customer’s spectrum dominance. From cost-effective SDR payloads for UxS to 3U VPX cards for manpack and vehicle deployments, and now high-performance SDR platforms to protect and defend the RF landscape from the most challenging threats, Epiq will be there to support your mission.
